Avery

While babysitting my nieces last summer, little Avery took her keys and shoe for a walk in the backyard a little before sunset.. She made such a great little pose that I had to paint it. I made a point to paint it for my sister's birthday, but ended up finishing it for Christmas instead..not a bad time to give a gift though:). I really enjoyed painting her lively expression and the warm glow of the sun reflecting onto her cheek.

Art Portfolio update!

Here's several examples of my oil on Illustration board style. These illustrations have been published in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint's Ensign magazine. This is one of two styles that I've been working in for the past 6 years. The other style is more whimsical and fictitious in nature and is detailed out in gouache (to be featured soon). I enjoy painting in both styles and particularly love catching just the right look for those paintings that tell a story as those portrayed below.  Enjoy!
